Free concert — Saturday, October 25, 2025 — 5:00 p.m. — UCR South Campus Auditorium (Golfito).
Maf É Tulà, Costa Rican singer-songwriter and cultural producer, arrives in Golfito with “Roots and Tides: Songs from the Deep Soul,” a performance that celebrates who we are: jungle, gulf, memory, and hope. Admission is free. The entire community is invited.
An immersive experience born from the jungle and the sea
This is not “just a concert.” Roots and Tides is a high-level stage production with original music, visual projections, and lighting design that immerse the audience in a sensory journey. The songs engage with urgent themes: environmental awareness, mental health, and human rights. Many lyrics rise from the Golfo Dulce — from the ebb and flow of the tide, from the natural and cultural richness of the region. Maf É Tulà performs with a top-tier band, and the night will feature guest artists, turning the evening into a collective celebration.
Who is Maf É Tulà?
Maf É Tulà (María Fernanda Sáenz) weaves Latin American roots with tribal, folk, and jazz-infused textures. Since her debut Viaje Cósmico (2006), she has built a unique musical language that invites both contemplation and movement. Her trajectory has been recognized by ACAM and has taken her to stages in over 15 countries across Latin America and Europe, performing in both intimate and institutional settings (TEDx programs, cultural circuits, and museums).
In 2023, she participated in TEDxPuraVida, and in 2025, she released the single “EMERGENCIA” alongside La Voz Nativa, Guadalupe Urbina, and Fabián Pacheco — opening a new artistic cycle inspired by the tropical rainforest. She has also performed at festivals such as Transitarte and the National Arts Festival, as well as the Teatro al Mediodíaseries at the National Theatre, solidifying her artistic excellence and cultural relevance.

Culture that decentralizes: Golfito as a beacon
Bringing a production of this caliber to the UCR South Campus Auditorium is more than logistics — it’s a statement of purpose. Democratizing and expanding the cultural agenda beyond the Greater Metropolitan Area is essential for national talent to circulate and for communities to see themselves reflected in their own stories. This concert:
- Positions Golfito as a cultural and touristic destination (in addition to its natural appeal).
- Amplifies regional and national visibility through media and social networks.
- Reinforces the commitment to culture, sustainability, and the local community.
- Offers brand visibility through promotional materials, projections, and live experience integration.
Culture is not an expense — it is emotional and social infrastructure. When a community sees and hears itself, identity and opportunity flourish.
Brands that invest in music: what do they gain?
Those who invest in culture connect with values that truly matter today: authenticity, sustainability, education, and well-being. Partnering with projects like Roots and Tides generates:
- Authentic brand affinity: Audiences recognize and value companies that support what they care about.
- Meaningful content: Music creates organic stories and audiovisual pieces perfect for social media and PR.
- Measurable impact: Attendance, mentions, reach, and experiential activations.
- Local legacy: The investment stays in the region, fostering talent and networks.
